The whole concept of sustainability is far reaching and isn’t only about avoiding the factors that have been implicated in climate change.  It is also about making sure that people stay healthy with a proper diet, plenty of rest and keeping them free of disease.

One of the ways to accomplish good health is by keeping away from as many of the toxins that we are exposed to on  a regular basis, and trying to remove as many of the other toxins as possible.

It is incredible how toxic this planet has become in just a few short decades.

Removing all the toxins we are exposed to in our homes is a near impossible task, but the gradual replacement of the offending items  will less in expense.

If  you are planning to replace the toxic items with non-toxic equivalents, the best place to start is with the items that you are in most contact with.  Pillows, mattresses, bedding, carpeting,  towels and clothing should be the first considerations.  Cleaning products, personal care products, are also items that should be switched to natural and sustainable counterparts.

Sustainability shouldn’t be entirely thought of as a concept for the manufacturers. Sustainability begins at home.
